Match Report
Written by Andy EyresHaving been 3-0 up from the first leg, and with choice, I should have been pretty confident...
9 a-side - good numbers
Yellows started quite well, but the game was a tense affair, with few outstanding chances in the first 20 mins. The deadlock was soon broken, with the yellows taking a 1-0 lead. Kenny had already made a few decent saves, but could not stop Richie S flicking the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box.
Soon the yellows had pegged us back, Carl S threading a fine pass to the opposing team for the whites to equalise. 1-1.
The game continued in this fashion, with the yellows creating plenty of chances, but not able to finish them, Chris, Richie, Gary, Andy E, all guilty of missing good chances. Soon it was to be 2-1 to the yellows however. Good work down the right again, with Richie, Chris and Gary combining (can't remember who scored) 2-1.
Lets keep it tight we said...
2-2 - yellows failing to clear their lines, Mack tackled the ball into the net to make it 2-2.
it stayed like this for a while, then we went 3-2 up with about 10 mins remaining. This time, a fierce shot from outside the box, through a number of bodies and through ken's legs - Gary I think? 3-2
Yet again, we couldn't hold a lead, Ali broke down the right, and put in a cross for Blake to scramble a header in from a yard out, unmarked.
3-3 and this is how it stayed.
I do now progress in the captains cup - damage done in the first leg, commiserations to Ali, but well played.
MOM: Yellows: Gary, Whites: Nick E
