On another night with a low turnout, Alan and I were chosen to pick in the Captains cup, one of the last of such games before the top 2 battle out the remaining 4 games.

Yellows started the game stronger, with their first goal coming from Mark who beat me to a cross from Gary and slotted in past Woodsy in goal, 1-0 yellows. They soon doubled their lead with Gary involved again, closing down our defence and winning the ball in a dangerous position before shooting past me in goal, 2-0 to yellows. The game then started to become more even, with whites starting to play better with Ali and Chris getting some shots away. The game looked all but over when Gary smashed a shot past Paul in the white's net leaving him with no chance; 3-1.

Credit to my side, we never gave up and Bob started an attempted comeback when he headed home from close range from a throw-in from Ali, 2-1. Panic perhaps flared amongst the yellow team when I managed to pull another goal back when the ball broke loose from around 25 yards after good pressure from Chris, hitting it on the half-volley past Alan, 3-2. Sadly, it was too late for the whites to complete a full come-back, but had we played another 5 minutes or so I'm confident we may have pinched an equaliser! A good game of football and a good shift put in from all involved. Good luck to Alan in the next round!

M.O.M. begrudgingly goes to Gary for his involvement in all of white's goals. ;)
P.S. We briefly discussed a potential Whatsapp group chat for all members after the game regarding the on going issue of low numbers/not knowing if we will have a game etc; I feel it simplifies things rather than ideas already discussed, just a thought but could be worth a shot!
