Match Report

Written by Bob Parker
With the numbers even, I had first choice and started picking defenders. Alistair seemed a bit surprised by this as he was 2-0 up from the 1st game. I decided to play Neil up front by himself, as I thought after last weeks 'collision' with Gary everyone would stay away from him. Harvey needed a good run out as he hadn't played for a while so I stuck him in midfield.

It was important for Yellows to get off to a good start, which we did when a throw in from the right from Harvey found Neil and with a glancing header and the ball nestled into the corner of the net, 1-0. Minutes later it was 2-0 when Harvey came in from the right and shot leaving Ken standing on the spot. Although Yellows were getting a lot of the ball, Whites were still dangerous on the break, with shots from Blake, Alistair, and Chris going close. One shot was saved onto the post, and a header from Geoff hit the bar. Yellows were finding a lot of space in midfield and when Mark passed to Dave he shot at goal to make it 3-0. Alistair was now a goal behind on agg, and Whites started to push up more. Paul, Noel, and Brian were all having an outstanding game and soaking up the pressure, and when called upon I was making the odd save. Whites were starting to leave gaps in their defense which left a lot of space for our attack. A move started by Noel on the right passed onto to Mark who then pushed it onto Neil to slot home, 4-0.

Congratulations to all the Yellows, Paul, Noel, and Brian for being so solid at the back. Mark, Harvey, Laurie, and Dave for excellent play in midfield. Neil for working tirelessly upfront being a menace.

Man of the Match is Harvey for his solid performance up and down the pitch.

It was an good game played by both teams with no controversies which was a pleasure to be involved in.

Lastly on behalf of all members I would like to welcome Dave Owen to the Plus30s club.
