Match Report

Alan's goal of the century

Written by Ian McKay

Apologies for the lateness of the post however couldn't remember my details to log in, however managed it.

Unlike Alan's wonder goal everything else is a blur.

I arrived on Wednesday to be greeted with the news I was picking against the newly crowned champion Dave.

The game started pretty evenly with Hackett assuring me he was not going to do anything surprising. Should have ignored that as he glided the ball past me to put Dave's team in the lead. I admit a person with any agility would have stopped it, however it was me in goal.

The whites continued to press and the equaliser soon came. The game was end to end and I can't actually remember the sequence of scoring however the match ended with the whites winning 6-2.

I have left the last paragraph to describe certainly the goal of the year, possibly the goal of the decade maybe even the goal of the century.

Silvan glided down the left supported by a stealth like run from Alan down the right. Silvan saw Alan's run and chipped the ball across to him. Without breaking stride and without hesitation Alan caressed the ball with the outside of his right foot and curled the all into the righthand side of the goal. It was a master of deception (an art Alan possesses in many walks of life). Poor Woody who was in goal went to his right to find he had completely been deceived by Alan.

A very pleasing and surprising result for me.

Thank you from me for the effort put in by my team.
