Struggling slightly for numbers we decided to play anyway with 11 players. Controversy starting in the dressing room as it was decided I would play Dave in a Duffers match. Dave, who had drawn his previous Duffers match with Ken assured us that 'Ken said he could have it'. No doubts from me Dave but some may question the validity of that claim.
Anyway, he was a good sport about it and elected to have first pick with myself getting the extra man.
The game started with an early shot on White's goal which I deftly palmed away only to then fall on my face and attempt to knock the ball back into the net with my arse. Lady luck was smiling down however (unlike the dulcet tones of Mac's expletives ringing across the pitch) and the score line remained 0-0.
It's a bit of a blur but I believe the White's took the first couple of goals and looked to be running away with it for a while until the strike team of Gary and Chris started punishing us for every foray we took forward, taking the lead away from us a couple of times. Good picking tactics of Dave I think.
All in all it was a great game, close all the way to the final whistle which I blew myself at exactly 9:00:00 as the Yellows were blasting forward yet again. Thanks to all who turned up.
Final score 10-9 to the Whites leaving Dave with a pretty good chance of winning the Duffers this year
MOM - Difficult. Gary played an absolute blinder for the Yellows but for my team I'm going to have to go with Mac who kept his cool in front of goal (at least twice!)
