The game had one distinct pattern to it, the whites defending immensely against a strong yellows team's attack and trying to hit them on the break as and when the opportunity arose. The first goal came from just that with some great work from Ali, Chris and Dad culminating in a break away goal to put the whites 1-0 up.

More pressure came from the yellow side but the whites defence continued to hold strong with Harvey, Davey W, Nutter and Nick B all making exceptional clearances or interceptions at one point or another with Neil offering them great protection sitting just in front throughout the game.

After absorbing up more and more pressure the whites struck again with Harvey drilling a low shot home from 20 yards out. This forced the yellows into a tactical change and Geoff moved further forward to cause the whites even more problems. The inevitable eventually happened and the yellows got the two goals back that they probably deserved on the balance on play but anymore than that probably would have been harsh.

The game went to penalties with Dave unlucky to lose 3-2 after striking the post with his 3rd spot kick . 

Having lost to my dad and now me on your fine cup run, I wish you all the best against my sister in the final.........

A really enjoyable game and special mentions to Chris and Ali who didn't stop running all game feeding off scraps for most of it, dad for changing the game with his hold up play once coming out of goal and of course the whole of the whites defence. Gary and Dave were as usual massive threats but the major difference in the yellow side was Geoff in the last 20 minutes.
