The match is best summed up as being close for the first 50 minutes and as Ben’s team tired my team were able to score a few goals to turn it into a comfortable win.
The deciding factor in this game was the picking board in the changing rooms. With even sides and me having the first pick Ben was always slightly on the back foot. This could be seen in the game as the yellows were always in marginal in control but spurned numerous chances in the early part of the game to be more relaxed. This meant the whites were only ever one goal away from making it an uncomfortable evening. However, with a little bit of luck and some hard running the yellows managed to keep shots down to a minimum and to concede only one goal. At the other end numerous chances went begging and also some excellent defending by Neil prevent a barrage of goals.
Going into the last 10 minutes the score was 3-1 but as Ben’s team tried to get back into the game that left a little more space at the back and Chris, Ritchie and Blake were able to exploit that space to score the additional four goals.
As usual it was a good entertaining evenings football. Well done to everyone.
