Match Report

Well beaten on the night

Written by Mark Nuttall

Well for the first 20 minutes it was cat and mouse. Very even and nothing in it at all with the whites having chance after chance going begging.

Would we regret the missed chances?

Oh yes we would !!

Then when Richie the rabbits stamina started to falter in midfield, Andy Eyre became the fox and ate the rabbit for breakfast lunch and dinner!

This was preceded by Mike Statham leaving me grasping thin air as he unleashed a shot from 20 yards into the top of the roof of the net. I could hear Mac`s chuckle from the other end of the pitch!!!

Richie continued shooting from range but his sheriff badge toe end boots continued to try and wake up the crows on the lighting stanchion.

Gary and Chris tried everything but Brian and Mike held firm at the back for the yellows.

Dave Owens and Andy Eyres pressed forward at every opportunity with Mark Austin a pest as usual and never seeming to tire.Macs continual rattling on could be heard trying to put me off as he asked did I have hands as shots continued to rain in.

Poor old Neil was left isolated and when I decided I was Ronaldo without the ball I might add and the poor sod was left with no chance again on his own at the back.

Gary and Chris ran heir trolls off until the end as usual with Gary’s brace a consolation unfortunately and Richie tried to stem the flow but to no avail. The chew he was promised obviously playing on his mind!

Dave Woods was very harshly penalised for more than 4 touches and continued to fervently complain as the yellows scored again. Where is VAR when you need it Woody?

The yellows continued to press and the goals continued and the storyline was written and I was left looking at the sky thinking what if!

Andy Eyres hat trick was completed in the second half and I must say thoroughly deserved on the night running the show from his number 10 position.

Mike ran him a close second for MOM another workmanlike performance at the back with Brian the Captain organising his team from start to finish.

No excuses we were well beaten on the night and Macs magic left hand to claw away my only shot summed up my night!!

Well captained Brian and good luck in the cup going forward. Unlucky whites on another night who knows.

MOM

Any Eyres for goals and constant running.
