After the first “Final” went to pens it was decided it should have been a replay so Dave O V Brian “take 2”.

We had a full house and the pictch felt and looked really small with not a lot of space with 20 lads on the field of play. I decided on a tactical change and opted for Noel at RB with Woody moving into RM, Noel was excellent and his ability to get in the way really helped plus Dave W enjoyed a rare role further up the pitch. I stayed in goal as the Yellows were doing ok and had plenty of chances in a really close game. It was full of gutsy performances and a few crunching tackles being dished out from both sides.The whites had the better of the early exchanges, crafting really good chances but mostly doing a “Mahrez” and blazing the ball over the fence onto the motorway. With space being limited and us finding it hard to get out from the back I reverted to long throws from the back, we started to create chances which with a bit more composure from Ali and Gary, could have scored at least 2, one bouncing along the cross bar the other flashing wide and Geoff making some fine saves. 

As the clock ticked down I had pens on my mind, “not again” Dave O must have been thinking as I came out on top in the last game he is crap at pens.

GOAL, a sweet cross by Dave W flicked on to Gary who scored the goal that would win the game.

A great game to end what was a short cup run for me but I still had to win the games I was in to lift the cup :D 

Thanks to Dave O and the Whites mainly for not scoring but also for making it a great final. Thanks to the Yellows for giving their all and a really great performance to win the game.
