The previous match between Steve and I ended with an early tenebrous finish, so a replay was required. Steve maintained first pick and I had the extra man in a 7 v 8 fixture.

The White's, with myself in goal, were under strict instruction to stop Yellows shooting at all costs because I am, quite frankly, crap in goal. Luckily for me the Yellows were equally poor at hitting the target. White's started well and for the first 15 minutes controlled the midfield with great skill, culminating in a well deserved goal from Mike.

Yellows were in disarray, and an errant pass at the back 30 seconds later stolen by Gary and calmly slotted in put us at 2-0. 30 minutes in, we were cruising.

It all started going wrong with some uncharacteristically sloppy play by Whites. I got in the way of a few shots but the tide could not be turned and it went 2-1 and then 2-2 a few minutes later.

Whites regained their heads a bit and it was pretty even until with a minute to go an astonishing long ball into the Yellow box by Mike collided with the shiny domes of Brian and Rich and bounced past an astonished Steve into the goal. 3-2 final result.

MOM hard to call. Incredible performances from so many, but this week the accolade has to fall to my Dad who had the touch of the game from a high ball and was involved in so every move for the Whites. (Also hoping for a good Christmas present this year Dad!)
