On a wet, cold Wednesday night, one player shined brighter than the rest and for once it wasn’t myself, but il come back to that.
Seven v six, Neil had first pick, I had the extra man, how ever Richie had had 6 pints before he got there so it wasn’t advantageous in the slightest. But some how we took an early lead by a great Dave Owens goal, Mike somehow come down the other end and squeezed one past me and the tightest of angles. Gary was trying his hardest to get them past me but I pulled of a couple of decent saves. Couple more goals from the whites from Dave and Brian made it 3-1 and I thought we had won it. Then came the onslaught from the yellows, two corners, two goals from Mike Statham, with two great headers, it was 3-3 with a few minutes to go. Then Dave Owens came up with a last minute winner from no where, weaved in and out of a couple of defenders then smashed it into the top corner. 4-3!
Man of the match and the bright light for the whites!
Laurie Evans, what a man, had Gary in his pocket all night, (sorry Garry) up and down the wing, brilliant defending and organising the back three.
Have a great Christmas everyone, look forward to seeing you all in the new year!!
