Match Report

Written by Carl Syvret

19 bravehearts put themselves out on a very cold evening.

I won the toss and went for first pick. (Why is it always bloody freezing when I get to pick. Of course unlike my counterpart I did the right historical thing and froze in goal. Thanks Rich for bringing your very expensive super skiing bobble hat which is now well sweaty!)

I would love to not allow the facts to get in the way of a good report..but the facts are is that it was a very even game for virtually most of the hour.

To be fair both sides given the amount of players and space on the pitch moved the ball around very well with a few chances falling to both sides.

We changed keepers after half an hour, Nick replace me.

The next attack by the yellows saw Chris give one of his out of the box wallops which quite unusually was going slightly towards the goal..it would have probably missed except it hit woody who fell over the ball which wrong footed Nick allowing the yellows to go one up.

(Woody’s first goal for 25 years)

The captain decided to change the demographics of the game to confuse the enemy..as in Mike and Neil swapped positions with Mike moving forward and Neil moving to the middle of the back.

From that point on the whites stepped up the attacking coming close on a few occasions.

That momentum was eventually rewarded with Gary slotting one to bring us level.

One bad note, Mike trying to make a tight turn went over on his ankle and went down like a bag of (don’t believe Mikes explanation on previous tweets I think it was Hackett who got him)

Poor Mike he’s probably going to be out for a few weeks.

Paul later in the pub protested his innocence, but I’m sure most of you like me know that if you are anywhere within 2 metres of Paul your life is in potential danger

Brian did a stirling job to get Mike back on his feet and supported Mike off the pitch.

More importantly this now meant we were a further man down.

However the whites carried on as by now most of the yellows were knackered, and nobody would pass to Richie anyway as he spent most of his time bitching to his team

We nearly snatched it In the last few seconds Andy Eyre was put through with only Nutter to beat in goal..he hit it wide..miss of the season so far.

MOM..has to go..to Alan Austin as he says he’s never had that accolade before.

So there you go Al <3
