A better turn out this week with 15 players players turning up! It was decided that myself and Ali would play a game in the Duffers. Ali had choice and first pick rather than the extra man, teams are as per the match report page.

Both captains started in their respective goals, as seems to be the tradition. The game was fairly even with both teams creating good chances in on goal, with the yellows having the more clear cut however putting them high and wide....*cough* Andy E *cough*. Woodsy was playing as our striker providing some good link up play with the Andys in midfield running off him.

Around the 20 minute mark the deadlock was finally broken after a blocked shot fell to Andy M who tucked it away in the net. A similar goal followed this with Jay, who had a superb game slotted home a second. 2-0. 

Give them their due, Ali’s Whites did not give up at this point and kept pushing. With two strikes within 10 mins from Mark A, the game was once again tied. Chances for both teams to win the game came and went in the final minutes of the game, however the final whistle/buzzer sounded and it was down to penalties to decide who progressed and who escaped in the cup competition. A very tense shootout ensued however I was able to, luckily, come away with the victory.

Man of the match; a lot of contenders, however I’d have to give it to our new guest, Jay. Who battled well in the middle of the park and also nabbling himself a goal. G’wed!
