All my players were first pick!!!

After a long Christmas break away from the plus 30's it was nice to see a good turn out first week back, some looked like they'd enjoyed Christmas more than others!! First touches were no where to be seen and it was more walking football in parts. 

Trailing 3-1 from the previous match I needed something special to keep myself in the captains cup.

The game got started and the yellows got off to a flyer bossing the midfield Sylvain and Andy with some slick passes between each other, but as we all know having the white VVD (Mike) at the back always helps steady the ship, with Harvey and Laurie next to him not much was getting through. 

Shortly after the yellows took advantage of some poor defending Andy megged Mike and a piece of terrible goalkeeping from myself lead to the yellows being 1 up as Ritchie sporting his new afganny training camp beard was able to poke it home from a yard out. The whites were playing some good football Gary, Dave, Jay and Brian linked up very well but we weren't able to score. 

Jay again had some good chances but still no goals. Harvey very kindly took over from me in goal. Hacket did what Hacket does best and came in with horror challenge which was a red card and a penalty in any other game but Var didn't give it.

A few mintues later it was 1-1 Gary's shot came back off the post hit Phil and trickled over the line. Game on!  

Wave after wave of great whites attacks lead to some great chances but it stayed at 1-1.

Ball to hand from myself as the ball linger around the box, another Var check but nothing was given.

Then Gary with a great strike from outside the box made it 2-1 reminded me of a young Curtis Jones! One more goal needed to claw back the two goal deficit! The whites were happy to hold on to the one goal lead for the points, I was desperate for another goal, we pushed the yellows looked tired and frustrated. Straight from the kick off we went down the other end and scored again confusion at the back lead to Dave picking the ball up passing it to Gary who slotted in the right bottom corner from just outside the box, Gary ran off to the corner took his top off with revealing a T-shirt with a picture of a T-Rex‘s body and Jordan Pickfords head with the caption “he's only got little arms”.

The game ended 3-1 to the whites great come back, Penalties will be sorted next week to see who makes it through to the next round.
