With odd numbers the first decision for Andy E after winning the toss was to decide extra man or first pick. Given that the majority of the old guard have gone extra man seems the way to go and he choose that option. With being man down I decided to go for mobility at each choice and had pace and energy across the park but was equally matched by Andy's team.

The pace of the game was quick all evening and some of the football was excellent. The whites quickly got on the front foot pressing when required and backing off when the team needed to slow the game down. As the whites pressed forward we were always exposed to the long ball which was used to good effect by the yellows and only some lung bursting runs back prevented chances being created by the yellows. The whites were creating a number of full and half chances and a combination of post, saves, poor finishing and some good defending prevented us from going a goal up. At the other end it was relatively quiet. The game turned on a controversial goal. Andy M had just blocked a shot, which went out for a corner, and was on the floor withering in agony. In true Plus 30's style he staggered to his feet in a daze and declared "I am ok". As the word "I" came out of his mouth, Ben played the corner into the box and Jonny stuck out his foot to flash the ball into the back of the net before the rest of the words "am ok" was completed. Unsporting or fantastic play – I will let you decide.

The game continued at a good pace and the whites continued to create a couple of half chances but the extra man was beginning to have an impact and we could not really create a good clear opening with the yellow's sitting deep and negating the pace we had in the side (Gary). The threat was always there for a second goal on the break for the yellow's, particularly with the failure in the floodlights and it being impossible to see the ball. The game ended 1-0 to the yellows. Well played everyone.
