I managed to drag myself from the second covid jab to turn up (I would say play football but I was so rubbish it would be an insult to everyone else). As I was carrying an injury I decide to let Peter have Bren as his goal keeper and play in goal myself (first mistake of the evening). As you can see, the sides were fairly even and the first 15 to 20 minutes the yellows were on top and scored with a well worked goal between Gary and Dave but we also had a number of other chances which either were saved or went wide. We should have been two and possible 3 up at this stage. The whites then scored the equaliser from a slightly defected shot and then thereafter the whites began to get on top and create some chances. The second whites goal was completely my fault, as I thought the ball was going wide but Ben's shot was perfect, hitting the post to nestle into the back of the net (sorry Yellows). Mark then declared he was struggling and I came out and let Mark go in goal.
The yellows then huffed and puffed for the rest of the game but never really troubled Bren in goal. The whites third goal was a lovely goal. Long ball to Peter and a lovely lob over Mark. Not Mark's fault as I had left him exposed as I was like a cripple trying to run back and defend.
The only point I can say for myself was after Jay tried to hurt my ribs again and jumping into my hip I decided to get my revenge and punch him in the head and he went down for a count of ten (I now have a sore hand), obviously an accident. I thought the referee gave him a long count but he did get up before the count of ten to carry on playing. I can only apologise to my team mates and try better next time.
Man of the match - Ben (sorry Ritchie), good goal and good chasing around.
Lower order - Me.
