Fortunately, I managed to turn up on time this week which meant that Blake and I were going to be captains. After my previous attempt at picking teams, I thought I would learn from my mistakes and pick a more offensive line up. Both captains seemed to be happy with their teams. Blake chose the two wild cards of Mark and Andy H who hadn't kicked a football for several weeks. This seemed to pay off in the long run.

The yellows started off well. Keeping possession high up the pitch. Our confidence was growing. I felt a clear win coming our way. It was at that point when the whites gained possession and swiftly moved the ball up the pitch setting up Ben for a clinical finish. That set the tone for the whole match. 

The yellows watched numerous chances pass by without prevail. The whites managed to get men behind the ball whenever it was needed. I'm still not sure if Mike ever stepped foot out of his own box. 

Blake had appeared to have numerous boot changes, spending half of the game tying his shoelaces trying to waste time. He did however manage to bag two goals himself.  

Although 3-0 is a hard score line to take, it was thoroughly deserved. Tactically very well played. Great game!

There were plenty of contenders for MOTM for the whites. It could easily of been: Peter for his usual box to box effort, Ben for his clinical finishing, Mark for his immense hold up play or Richie for finally not getting an assist for the other team. It will have to go to the man between the sticks, Bren (no not you Mike). His usual high-quality saves throughout the match not only stopped us from scoring but also made us over think every shot. Well Played!
