Match Report

Written by Jonny Greenall

With numbers a little thin on the ground, Jay and I were left to pick sides with a couple of unknown guests making selection slightly more pot luck than normal. I played it safe and left Jay with both guests which turned out to be a positive for him as both contributed well to his side.

The game started quite freely with my side, the yellows, trying to play a fast paced, move the ball type game and the whites went for a more counter attacking approach. Both teams looked dangerous with their differing styles creating chances but the whites managed to grab the lead from a Richie Southern goal, I didn't hear him claim to be this week's man of the match but I'm sure he will of thought it non the less.

This didn't stop the yellows who continued to create chances that myself and Nick decided to repeatedly miss, infuriating Paul at the back who was surely thinking he could of done a better job himself upfront. The whites continued to press on the counter and Dave made us pay making the score 2-0, big uphill climb needed from the yellows to salvage anything from this game.

That uphill effort came. Andy grabbed one back to give us a glimmer of hope which was eventually turned into a reality when Nick scored the equalizer with only seconds to spare.

Both teams had a lot of unconverted chances, sorry I can't name specifics but I remember thinking the score could of comfortably been 5-5 (this is why you write the report straight after the game, I will learn one day).

Special mention goes to Jay for breaking his losing streak and, although the coin toss cost him the win, he managed to keep him name off the worst streak record.

Result 2-2

MOTM - Nick, although I was pulling my hair out with some of both of our missed chances, you came up trumps and got that equaliser we desperately needed.
