I had mentally blocked out the events of Wednesday night due to the trauma it had caused me at the time, writing this match report is causing severe pain.
Dave and I were lucky enough to be captains on a very cold evening which resulted in Brian's hat making an appearance which turned out to be more of a problem than you might think. With two even looking sides picked, the game started quickly with end to end football being played testing both sides post Christmas fitness. Ignoring last weeks chaos, the scores had been pretty low in recent games so once the first goal was scored, it seemed the flood gates opened.
Notable goals from Richie with some lovely distribution from Neil and another good finish from Chris are what I'm trying to take away from the game but a strong performance from Gary Pogba shouldn't be ignored. My memory of the order of scores has been blocked out due to the pain of conceding with the last kick of the game to lose 5-4.
Notable events, Brian's hat scoring a lovely header over Bren as one of his two goals of the game, shame they were both for the opposition. Jay getting cleaned out by everyone, Hacket, Chris and Richie to name a few. Hope the bruises have gone down by now mate.
Solid effort from everyone that night, I think a draw was a fair result but we couldn't hold it together to concede as the game ended.
My MOTM is Chris for his solid work rate in a very open midfield.
