Some big contenders missing from the league meant that Bren and I could challenge for podium places for the 21/22 season. 

Warm night and 6 a side meant fitness was going to be key and that certainly showed. The whites used the counter attacking football to test the yellows who had a lot of possession. This worked well as the whites took an early lead but the yellows continued to push on. The game was very end to end with both teams wanting a win and my memory fails me of the order of goals. I think the whites took a 2-0 lead and the yellows countered to take it to 2-3. The closing minutes of the game where the heat and fitness certainly tested me resulted in more goals with a final score of 4-4. 

I think a draw was a fair result and that was all I needed to overtake the new father Gary Pogba to second place in the league. Congratulations Gary, we all look forward to our pint in the pub when you return. 

As this was a Duffers cup game, Richie and I took pens to see who goes through and thankfully I managed to save one meaning he carries on his cup run.

I’ll give MOM to Neil who played a more offensive role very well, maybe a new position for you next season.
