Being fairly new back to the plus 30s and Jamie being new as well we both went with names we knew, hence my line up and hence why I had 5 centre backs and not knowing Gary doesn't play up front to support Jay it was a very defensive line up. But never the less the yellows were well up for another 9v9 classic.
The whites came out all firing with some shots flying past the post and bar but obviously I had them all covered. Slowly the yellows worked our way into the game and started to make chances. Jay was the centre of all of attacking work. The lad didn't stop pressing. A few corners flashed past the yellows post until finally Big Ed came up from defence rose like a salmon with a bullet header. They say all the greats score on there debut.
A few minutes later we were two up. With a lovely finish from Gary. Then came the onslaught from the whites. Wave after wave of attacks, balls flashing past the post. Until finally Nathan scored with a nice finish. Then thankfully the final whistle came with the whites winning two one.
Great to have 9v9 for the second week in a row.
Man of the match was between two players this week. Paul H and Jay . First half Jay was everywhere like I said he was keeping us in the game but overall Paul H was brilliant at the back again. He won every aerial challenge he went in for and never lost the ball. Well done Paul.
