Match Report

Written by Harvey Baird

Experienced captain against a newbie what could go wrong. Absolutely nothing. Opinion of everyone before, during and after the game that it was won in the dressing room on the picking board. James going for his friends and myself going for the best players. I also had the spy in the camp when James picked Nick (see whatapps message).

James decided to take Ritchie's advice and put the worst outfield player on the pitch in goal. The only problem was that he got it the wrong way round as he was rubbish when he came out of the goal (was on for MOTM in the first half with some great saves).

In terms of the match it was fairly comfortable for the yellows all night. The back line was well controlled by Paul and Ed, I would include Nick in that statement but he seemed to play every position apart from his allocated right back position. The midfield of Andy, Gary, and Nathan controlled the game and snuffed out any potential attacks and the front two of Tom and Dave O created havoc all night. My only complaint was that we really should have scored about 10 goals. Out of the 5 goals the highlight was Dave's headed goal from a super cross from Gary.

The whites huffed and puffed all night but were never really in the game. Jonny had a couple of shots but all went over the bar. Cush (sorry Martin) did score late on for a well deserved consolation goal.

MOTM, could have been given to a number of yellows as everyone played well but going to give it to Gary as he was everywhere and assisted and scored goals, a great all round performance
