With only a 5-1 deficit to overcome I knew I was asking a lot.
Picking commenced, the first two players pretty much picked themselves based on form. From then on choosing players became a lot more difficult. As captain of the yellows I came out of the changing room quite confident. (Although I felt the same in the first leg).
All I needed was 4 goals in 60 minutes. A goal every 15 minutes.
For the first half an hour yellows seemed to be fully in control. Keeping possession and passing it round looking as if we knew what we were doing.
Just 12 minutes in Nathan managed to find space in the box and header the ball into the top left corner.
Now all I needed was a goal 16 minutes.
The yellows continued to dominate the first half. For some reason we found it hard to hit the ball past both Nick and Bren standing pretty much on the goal line...
Nathan's second goal came around 45 minute mark. If I'm right it was another great header. I knew I was asking a lot but I needed 2 more goals.
A goal every 7.5 minutes.
Being the arrogant sod that I am. I knew I had to be my own hero, so I came out of goal to swap with Harry. Unfortunately, Harry let the whole team down. Gary hit a pea roller through Harry's legs as he stood there bewildered.
A very competitive and entertaining game to be fair. Nick deservedly goes into the captains cup with a aggregate score of 6-3. Good luck!
MOTM - Could go to anyone on the yellows but I'll give it to Pete. First game back in a while and really put a shift in down the left had side.
PS - I asked Blake at the beginning of the game to score lots of goals. I should have clarified that I meant on our pitch.
