Match Report

Written by Tom Kophamel

With only 4 games remaining, Nathan and I were set to battle it out in a highly anticipated first vs second match. Thanks to a few last minute drop outs I was blessed with a birthday present of first pick and the extra man. Picking started and the pressure was on.

The excitement was palpable as the two teams took to the field, determined to emerge victorious in this intense competition. The game started off strong, with the Yellows putting up a good fight. Despite the Whites having an extra man, the Yellows refused to give up and continued to push forward, determined to score. After a few tremendous saves by Nathan in goal, the Yellows managed to break the deadlock. Some quick passing on the counter put Peter through on goal, where he calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner. Although it pains me to say, it was a well-deserved goal.

But despite their valiant efforts, the Yellows were unable to hold onto their lead. After a change of goal keepers on both teams the momentum swayed in favour of the Whites. I came out of goal to be a focal point up top which seemed to strengthen the Whites and Nathan came out of goal which really hindered the Yellows.

The Whites' superior numbers seemed to make the difference in the end. The Whites dominated the field, scoring goal after goal and leaving the Yellows in their wake. In the end, the Whites emerged victorious, beating the Yellows 3-1.

MOTM could go to Nick Smith for trying to convince the Yellows that it was a well deserved win. However, I will have to give it to Blake for his season best of 2 shots on target.

Notable moments
- Myself and Cush having a little cuddle mid match.
- Jamie hitting the crossbar
- Gary P practically clearing the ball off the oppositions goal line.
