First game of the 23/24 season, and I was paired with Jay P for the Duffers Cup final. I went with extra man, and Jay picked Nathan first pick. My eyesight is shite and I missed Gary P. Bad mistake. My first pick was Jamie, no slouch, but Jay was straight in and grabbed Gary. 

Picking aside, the whites matched a very mobile yellows team for 40 minutes. Yellows scored first against the run of play. We equalised soon after with a rare goal from me 1-1. Yellows got a second with an unfortunate OG by Neil, I think Jay would have scored tbh. Neil tried to kill Laurie, clearing a ball straight into his solar plexus (fuming after his OG). 

We pressed for an equaliser, Bren making some good saves, but we got caught on the break. It finished 4-1 to yellows. Great effort by whites. We just didn't have the legs. 

Nick S nearly killed me with a ball volleyed to the back of my head, cheers lid. 

A welcome return to a few who haven't played for a while, Jay P, Ross, Pete, Paul H, Bren, to name a few.
