Knock-Out for Andy's team as the yellows put 9 past the whites! G.Parker withdrawn from the match after losing his head.
The game started evenly as both captains had to deal with a shortage of defenders this week. Around 10 minutes into the game, Jamie put his foot through the ball for a clearance - instead of reaching row Z it smashed G.Parker's jaw and the whites hope of a decent game. The game was stopped whilst Cush put Gary in a recovery position and Graeme did some questionable leg thrust - almost as helpful as when Bren offered to put Harvey's broken nose back in place!
After Gary finally came back to life, Graeme continued with the eye tracking test but Gary was more concerned why his ankle was sore. Neil was right, he does snap like a twig! Due to Graeme's diagnosis of a grade 1 concussion, Gary was sent to the changing room. Tom tried to make him feel better and said that it was the best first touch he had seen him do.
The game restarted and the extra man was making a real difference as the yellows dominated. The whites had a game plan of route one counter attack which almost succeeded on a few occasions. Jay's half volley on the run and Paul's toe bang tested Bren and even though Bren let a cross slip through his hands, the yellows held on to the clean sheet. Graeme also made some good saves, in between some not so good ones, as the yellows recorded a big lead in this first leg tie. It was a game the whites want to forget which I think Gary will have no problem doing.
There were a lot of good performances for the yellows as the game still had to be won given the circumstances. Although Richie couldn't bag a goal, which we tried our hardest to set him up, he still registered 4 assists! So I hope this MOTM will assist you to score off the pitch!
