Another Wednesday night ruined by the announcement from Gary that I was going to be Captain. The pain was eased by the fact that both Nick S and Bren were playing in goal so saved me from the embarrassment of going in.

With Chris S forgetting the bags we had to resort to the online edition of the picking board and Bren nipped home for some spare gloves and balls, I had already planned my first 3 picks hoping that Ross wouldn't pick any of them and he never … I was made up.

Kick off was delayed due to Bren doing some questionable pumping of the balls and eventually we got going, with the yellows seemingly still half asleep we applied the pressure early and a comedy of errors at the back led to an easy tap in for Jamie who took it off Dave's toes.

As the game progressed the yellows never really had a sniff at goal and the odd chance they did get Nick S easily stopped.

A second goal came from myself and Jamie wrapped the game up with a third.

MOM - could have gone to any of my team especially the back 3 of Jonny , Blake , Cush and Nick S in goal as they were solid and didn't let anything past. So I'm going to give it Blake , he's been playing the best I've seen him play since I've joined lately and he backed that up again with another solid performance.

That win for me also means that the wooden spoon winner from last season is now higher in the league than last seasons league winner with a game less played .....
