A night to forget for the Whites, as Nathan sails through into the first round of the Captains Cup. 

3-2 on aggregate and everything to play for, but the Whites made it extremely hard for themselves straight from the off.

An early through ball to Nick S saw him one on one with the keeper, calmly slotting it past me after the second attempt. Shortly after, another save took Gary P by surprise who managed to smash it into the Whites net from the rebound. 0-2.

A loose pass then made its way through to my feet and I calmly knocked it straight to James who slotted in return. 0-3, game over.

Nick S found himself through on goal once again, this time sending both defender and keeper the wrong way, tapping the ball into an empty net. 

This led to Paul H allegedly faking an injury to go in goal, as apparently I had been sleeping for the last 4 goals, but not long after he was caught doing the same. 

If I'm honest, I don't think the scoreline does the game justice. Whites had some great spells forcing Nathan into some top saves, and a quick fire hat-trick from Dave O put the score back to 5-3 with the game still in reach. 

The hope was extremely short lived and it all turned sour when Nathan eventually came out of net, who made an immediate impact also netting a hat-trick, finally putting the game to bed. 

Final score 8-3. (11-5 on aggregate)

Tough call for MoM but the stats say it all. A class performance and a hat-trick from Nick S was the game winner for me.
