Having dropped into the wooden spoon contender on the last game of the season, I was keen to remove my name from the Duffers Cup ASAP.

7 v 7 and 2 guests, I took the risk of having both on my team. Just before kick off, Bren’s guest (Dan) told me he hadn't played competitively in 10 years, earning himself ‘versatile’ on the team sheet and CB on the night.

A fairly even start to the game, but Yellows found themselves 2 goals to the good after some rather unfortunate defending, and I started to plan my excuses for not coming to the end of season do.

However it wasn't long before the game was level, with Nick E finally getting the ball over the line and a tidy finish from Guest 1. (Mike V)

One of the game's notable moments followed when Nick S sold Bren a fake Newcastle shirt, chipping the ball over him into an empty net to make it 3-2.

A second from my MoM, Nick E, and an (eventual) on target long range effort from myself, saw Whites back in front with 15 mins to go. That being said, both Chris S and Bren had their fair share of decent saves, whether it was for the cameras or not...

Yellows went all out with the ‘rather lose 5-3’ tactics, sending Nick S (goalkeeper at this point) up for a corner.

The game did indeed end 5-3, with a clearance from the resulting corner leaving Nick E and Mike in a 2v1 situation without the GK to beat.
