With limited numbers again on the check in I was honoured with captaincy for the second time in a month. Duffers cup round one!

I opted for picking the current top 3 in the league, which may come back to haunt me in the title race if I have any intentions of going for the top spot, with Gary P being 4 points clear at this stage.

6 vs 6 again meant another tight start to the game, but Yellows managed to keep good possession and defended well at the back, with yet another stand out performance from Paul H, and some solid goalkeeping (despite throwing the ball straight out of play and some dodgy passing)

The deadlock was eventually broken with a well worked move finished by a Dave O tap in, who has been in fine form in front of goal recently.

Yellows managed to hold possession and I was enjoying playing a rush keeper role, but received a stern warning from Gary P to 'get back in goal!''

Nevertheless, Whites were unable to break through and Yellows continued to press forward, with another couple of goals from Dave O and Jonny, who was dominating the game in midfield.

As soon as the third went in I decided to get some of the outfield action, but instantly regretted it after slipping over the ball to give Whites possession to get one back at the other end. Thankfully Dave was on hand to restore the 3 goal lead, managing to bag 4 in total - which has to earn MoM from me!

Whites did pull another back with a drilled effort from Tom, but at this point the game was well and truly won. 5-2 final score, scratching my name off the Duffers Cup 2025.
