With numbers low this season it was leg two of Dave vs Cush before Christmas!
I had first pick which is always a big advantage in 6 vs 6 and I tried to get as much pace as possible to make the most of the big pitch.
The game started open but an early goal from Gary P gave the yellows the advantage. But with both teams going for it there were chances at both ends. But yellows started to dominate and Andy E slotted the second to settle some nerves.
Nick S, after a long spell out, moved to in goal and started to redefine the sweeper keeper role playing mostly on the half way line and helped the whites get up the pitch.
Yellows pace and movement made the most of the big pitch and added another quick couple of goals. Whites continued to play and threaten the goal with chances but weren’t able to find the net. The tie was still in the balance but a 5th goal put away nicely by Gary W settled it and we were able to see the result out.
Possibly a tighter game than the score suggests given the number of chances for both teams but overall a good win for the yellows.
MOM goes to Gary P for endless running in attack and defence and a couple of nicely taken goals.
