Match Report

Written by Graham Cairney

Game-on following a late rally cry. Injuries meant that potentially the game would start with 4 keepers! Thankfully not however, but with the keepers already picked meant captains got to play out. Paul gave me first pick and with even numbers I opted for speed.

Whites started strongly putting plenty of pressure on the yellows. Hitting the post 4 times in opening 10 minutes. It was fitting then that the first goal would be scored only after hitting both posts before rifling the back of the net.

A second quickly followed, and the whites started to look comfortable. This was short lived as yellows rallied back with two goals of their own – with a little help from myself scoring the poorest, slowest OG of all time!

The Whites rallied again with some great football, and the goals followed. I could almost touch my first points of the session, narrowly avoiding setting a new unwanted club record of the biggest losing streak ever.

Following a very minor coming together, which Bren made a meal of, saw him back in nets, producing the save of the session from a piledriver off Tom which he saved with his ‘town halls’. Leaving everyone with a tear in their eye – partly from laughter.

MOM could go to a number of players, Gary for his tireless running and organisation, Harvey, in nets for making some great saves to prevent any yellow come back. However, for his goals and assists MOM this week is Mike Vicary.
