Despite a few ins and outs in the leading hours to kick off, we ended with decent numbers for 7aside and the season's first cup game. Pete did the draw and drew a double Gary for the captains cup.

The whites were first to make the breakthrough with Pete and Gary W giving them an early lead. Gary having half an open goal to aim at considering I had aligned myself along the central white line on the pitch and unaware that the goal behind me was another six feet to my left!

The yellows kept plugging away and created a plethora of opportunities, and finally a Jamie rocket got us back in it to go 2-1.

The whites restored their two goal advantage with Andy bursting past the last man and putting the ball through my legs.

With Bren doing his best impression of being stuck in the mud, Mike was well positioned to pick up a loose ball and smash it into the top corner.

The yellows continued to apply pressure and held most of the momentum in the final quarter. The effort paid off with a very scrappy goal - the ball ricocheted up off Mike, I took a hopeful swing with my left foot, and it slowly bounced in off the post.

Game ends 3-3.

No time for penalty shootout, so that's on the cards before KO next week!

MOM - Jamie - great goal, positive on the ball, up and down the pitch all game and I don't recall him kicking the ball over the fence once, so that's a 10 for him in my book! :)
