Match Report

Written by Ben McKay
Score ben 3-9 mark

I offered to take my turn to write this weeks match report probably to hide the embarrassment of somebody else having to describe again.

The match started with a clear signal of intent from the yellows with three quick early goals. The first coming whilst my father decided to go walkabout to retrieve another ball. I had reminded him at the start of the match to use his hands when he was in goal I now regret forgetting to remind dad to stand in the goal too. A trait he is ironically very good at when playing centre forward, ken will vouch for that.

What followed was a good passage of play from the whites (the only one of note) which saw us claw two goals back and from then on it was one way traffic and unfortunately not a parked bus in sight.

I can't really remember all of marks teams goals but basically Ali passed to Gary or Gary passed to Ali and one of them scored x6, with Andy smith taking up the role of conductor for their attacking play keeping them organised and our defence occupied.

We got a late consolation goal from a fine strike from woodsy to add to his earlier assist.
Credit goes to marks team for playing extremely well and being ruthless right up until the last minute (tw@ts) but also credit to my team who despite the score line never gave up and is probably a testament to the club and the people in it, that you can have your ass well and truly handed to you for an hour but still enjoy the kick about.

In other news-

*Neil- you're getting kicked next time we play for not going through your brother or putting him into the fence again.

*Liverpool lost

*I didn't want to win the captains cup anyway.....

* man of match Gary

And finally,
On a personal level I had a really great week after my girlfriend finally came out of hospital after 8 weeks of worrying. It's been really tough and I'd just like to say thanks to the well wishes we had whilst it was all going on. Also thanks to me dad whose given us a lot of support but you're shite in goal.

Ben
Bring on the second leg we go again.....
