I was hoping to just paste the photo I took of the picking board so I didn't have to list the teams - but I can't do it unless Gary has a way? Its not that I'm bone idle... At least I can now remember the teams:

I chose first pick with Geoff having the extra man. Geoff was unimpressed by Andy & I having an unwitnessed toss. I was unable to repeat the exercise so he accepted Andy's word .... but not mine.

Geoff had Andy *2, Mac, Richie, Chris, Carl Ken, Dave Woods & Graney
v me, Gary, Neil, Harvey, Noel, Phil, Brian, Mark & Alistair

My lot were in rebellion even before kick-off, like a dutch world cup squad. Why hadn't I picked Andy; Mark was outraged that I'd not picked Bob - barely placated by the news that he wasn't there. & why had I eaten all the chocolated of the table on Saturday.

It was pretty even with Harvey , looking more like Sakho or Ian Goodison every day, masterful at the back with Phil & Noel keeping Andy et al at bay.

Gary broke the deadlock by doing the unexpected & putting a shot on target. He otherwise terrorised Geoffs defence all night, leaving space for Brian to turn provider with 2 Baines-like assists to me (one swept in from a cross & the other masterfully bouncing off the top of my head into the bottom corner. Alistair was given too much time with the ball & blasted a fourth towards the end.

Geoff did all he could but was left only with the now dashed expectation that I'd forget to do the match report. A rare victory & I cant remember the last time I scored 2 goals. ... but I think it might have been last night.

Oh & Neil gave a now normal great performance.
