Match Report

Written by Andy Eyres
Being even sides, i won the toss, so got first pick - selecting the 'Berbatov-esque' skillful, yet lazy bastard Richie Southern.

Anyways, not the greatest of spectacles this one, much of the game played in midfield, with very few clear cut chances carved out for either side.

Both teams started brightly enough, but a speculative punt into the whites box after a corner clearance, left lots of bodies scrambling to get out, the ball hit my foot and rolled into the net - massive deflection = spawny goal!
Yellows 1-0 up.

Further pressure from the yellows continued with a revitalised Noel Austin marauding down the right flank, and terrorising our defence. Apparently he put it down to having a very large pre match dinner!

Having recovered from our set back, the whites went about finding an equaliser, and it duly arrived after half an hour. A throw-in (a proper one - Noel!) from Andy E into the box was headed in by Paul, who let out a massive scream of joy, and got a semi!

Pressure exerted by the whites came to no further fruition, with chances bocked from Richie, Mac, Andy E, Ali - Yellows defence camped in their box, so tough to find a way through.
Further chances for the yellows as the result of a few through balls from Gary and Harvey - for chris to get on the end of - who eagerly smashed them all wide!

Credit has to be given to both defences - paul, Nick, Brian for whites, Harvey, Woodsey, Neil for yellows.

So 1-1 and overall a fair result in my opinion.

Man of the Match - by a mile was Noel Austin - he was mega! (apart from your throw-ins - they are terrible - you must practice looking less gay when taking them!) - ask Phil Mealor for some tips!
